Content specialist

As a content specialist I combine my expertise in SEO, copywriting and data-driven strategies to grow your brand. From concept to reporting, I deliver sustainable results that increase your online visibility and effectively reach your target audience. Considering hiring an SEO specialist? Below you’ll find exactly what that involves and what you can expect.

Data-driven strategy

  • Keyword research and content gap analyses
  • Topic clusters and performance analyses
  • Fast, strong organic results

Content selection is fully data-driven. Using keyword research, content gap analyses and topic clusters I identify the best topics, while continuously optimising existing content based on performance data.

360° approach

  • Monthly reporting and content proposals
  • Weekly production and feedback cycle
  • Learnings applied immediately

With over 10 years of experience in online copy I have developed a refined workflow with two pillars: a monthly cycle for reporting and strategy, and a weekly workflow for production and feedback, so every learning is applied right away.

Results-driven

  • Live dashboards in Looker Studio
  • Analyses via Screaming Frog and custom tools
  • Per-page insight into traffic and conversions

Results are at the core of my approach. I work with live dashboards in Looker Studio and advanced analyses, making it possible to see exactly how each page performs in terms of traffic and conversions.

What working together looks like

Before a single word goes on the page, I want to understand how your organisation works and where the opportunities lie. That’s why every project follows a clear structure, so you know what to expect from the start.

  1. Introduction. We discuss your current situation, goals and any previous experience with SEO. No sales pitch, just an honest conversation about what’s realistic.
  2. Baseline and discovery. I map out where your site stands today: technical health, current rankings and where your competitors are pulling ahead.
  3. Plan of action. Based on that, I put together a concrete plan: which topics, pages and technical improvements take priority, and at what pace.
  4. Execution. I get to work within the agreed cycle (weekly for production, monthly for strategy and reporting), coordinating with your developer or team where needed.
  5. Ongoing refinement. SEO is never a one-off project. The dashboards show exactly what’s working, and I keep adjusting the approach accordingly.

Who this is for

This way of working suits organisations that want to tackle SEO structurally, not as an afterthought squeezed in between other priorities.

  • Businesses that want to grow organic traffic but don’t have an SEO specialist in-house
  • Marketing teams where SEO gets squeezed in “whenever there’s time” and need someone to take full ownership
  • Organisations that previously worked with an agency and are looking for more direct involvement
  • Businesses that want visibility in AI-generated answers, not just classic Google results

At an agency you often talk to an account manager who passes your question on to a rotating cast of specialists. Here you talk directly to the person who actually does the work. Based in the region? Also read about SEO in Castricum and the surrounding area.

What SEO specialist work covers

“SEO” covers a fair amount of ground. Here’s an overview of what I typically pick up, depending on what your situation calls for.

  • Technical SEO (page speed, indexation, site structure)
  • Keyword research and search intent analysis
  • Competitor analysis: where they outperform you, and why
  • Link building and authority development
  • Content strategy and topic planning
  • Optimising existing pages
  • Visibility in AI answers (ChatGPT, AI Overviews) alongside classic search results, see also how SEO for AI differs from classic SEO
  • Coordinating developers or other parties working on your site

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will I see results?

Small shifts in rankings often show up within the first couple of months, for instance when an existing page starts performing better. A noticeable increase in visitors and enquiries usually takes longer: expect somewhere between six months and a year of consistent work. Anyone promising faster results is selling you something nobody can deliver.

Do you work with fixed contracts?

No. I prefer working together for the long haul, since SEO simply needs time to pay off, but that doesn’t need to be locked into a long-term contract. If the collaboration isn’t working for you, you simply stop.

Can I keep handling part of the work myself?

Absolutely. Some clients prefer to write their own content based on my briefing, or have a developer implementing the technical improvements. We agree upfront on who owns which part, so it’s clear afterwards who’s responsible for what.

Does SEO still matter now that everyone uses ChatGPT to look things up?

Yes, but the rules are shifting. Alongside classic Google rankings, being mentioned in AI-generated answers is becoming increasingly relevant. Both rely on the same foundation: clear, trustworthy content that genuinely answers a question.

What size of business is this suited to?

From sole traders to mid-sized organisations with their own marketing team. Size matters less than whether there’s genuine willingness to approach SEO seriously and structurally.
